The major in Communication and Media Studies is a student centered program that emphasizes excellence in professional skills, ethical standards, and provides the hands-on experience expected of tomorrow’s communication leaders. Our mission is to develop civically engaged leaders who have the ability to integrate global and technical issues within the context of personal and professional excellence. The integration emerges from a focus on oral, written, and interpersonal skills, ethics, collaborative learning, research, and the value of diversity. The major offers concentrations in Media and Cultural Studies, Media and Documentary Production, News and Sports Reporting, and Public Relations and Professional Communications.
