COM 226 - Stereotyping in Media Credits: 3
This course explores media representation of societies and individuals in terms of race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and more. These distinctions often lead to an inequitable distribution of power and resources that trickle into various facets of life. Through social science research, students will explore why recognizing these stereotypes is important and why individuals must learn to critically analyze media messages presented to them.
