CS 231 - Introduction to Data Science Credits: 4
Introduction to principles of data science workflow, including data management and cleaning, data analysis, visualization, modeling, programming, reproducibility, and big data using various platforms. Students review logical and technical details of the structured and unstructured data, design and write programs to accomplish real-world data analysis, implement statistical simulations by reading in data, doing high-quality data analysis and creating graphical displays, following best practices for accessing, cleaning, and manipulating data.
Pre-Requisites: CS 126 with a grade of 2.0 or better and MTH 150 Repeatable: May not be repeated for credit Lecture: 2 Lab: 3
