WS 301 - Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies

This course introduces students to theoretical assumptions that underlie the social construction of gender and the historical development of feminist thought. Students are also exposed to a variety of contemporary issues related to gender, sexuality, race, culture, class, the family, reproduction, and language in light of these theoretical assumptions. Students are expected to complete a senior capstone project that addresses gender as a category of analysis. Offered every spring semester.

Pre-Requisites or Co-Requisites: Junior or senior status.
