ED 561 - Reading Across the Curriculum Credits: 3
This course provides research-based active readingcomprehension strategies that participants can apply to theirgrade level or content area. By learning how to implementthese metacognitive reading strategies, participants will beable to plan lessons more effectively. Emphasis is on learningstyles, types of text, notation systems, content-area reading,assessments, fluency, motivation, and grade-level vocabulary.ED 541 through ED 561, ED 5020 , ED 5024 , and ED5401-5405 were developed by educators at PLS 3rd Learning.The coursework is tightly structured, utilizing programmedlearning with integrated audio-visual materials. Studentsconduct research in their own classrooms and report regularlyon their success in employing strategies taught.
