ED 571 - Special Education Programming and Administration

This course will familiarize future principals with methods andstrategies to design and implement programs for studentswith disabilities that are compliant with legal requirementsand current research in improving student achievement.The importance of the role of the principal in developing anorganizational structure that facilitates the most appropriateteaching and learning environment for students withdisabilities will be embedded throughout the course. Thiscourse requires a 30 hour field experience focusing on specialeducation administration from the principal’s perspective. Requiredfor K-12 principal certification.
